Tinubu Deploys Security Chiefs to Maiduguri After Deadly Terror Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s Service Chiefs to immediately relocate to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, following a fresh wave of deadly terrorist attacks in the area.
The directive comes in response to multiple explosions that struck key locations in Maiduguri, leaving over 20 people dead and more than 100 others injured. The attacks, believed to be carried out by suspected insurgents, have raised renewed concerns about security in the North-East.
In a statement, President Tinubu described the incidents as disturbing and expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as those injured. He assured residents that the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and stability in the region.
The President emphasized that the attackers are under increasing pressure from Nigerian security forces, describing the violence as desperate attempts to spread fear. He reaffirmed that terrorism will not be allowed to thrive anywhere in the country.
Tinubu also revealed that additional operational support and resources have already been approved for security agencies. He further instructed emergency responders to ensure adequate medical care for victims while security chiefs take full control of operations in Maiduguri to prevent further attacks.
