Imole Campaign Council Predicts APC Defeat Ahead of Osun Governorship Election
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign organisation for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will suffer defeat in the forthcoming governorship election, insisting that the people of the state remain firmly behind the incumbent administration.
The council said the APC had failed to meet the expectations of Osun residents during its time in office and therefore lacks the moral authority to seek another mandate. It argued that voters have witnessed the performance of both administrations and would make their decision based on governance and service delivery rather than campaign promises.
Speaking through its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign organisation maintained that the growing support for Governor Adeleke reflects public satisfaction with his administration. The council also pointed to defections and increasing grassroots backing as indications that the electorate is prepared to renew Adeleke’s mandate at the polls.
The Imole Campaign Council further urged the APC to focus on presenting practical alternatives instead of engaging in political attacks, maintaining that the governorship election should be decided by the will of the people. It expressed optimism that Osun voters would once again support Adeleke based on what it described as his administration’s record in governance and development.
With political activities intensifying ahead of the election, both the ruling party and the opposition have continued to step up campaigns across the state as they seek to convince voters ahead of the governorship poll.
