APC Direct Primaries: Faleke Women Movement Endorses James Faleke for Ikeja Reps Ticket
The Faleke Women Movement for Renewed Hope (FWMRH) has intensified mobilisation efforts ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Direct Primaries scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, throwing its full weight behind the re-election bid of James Abiodun Faleke as the party’s flag bearer for Ikeja Federal Constituency.
In a press statement signed by the National Chairperson of the group, Hon. Zainab Yusuf Ogundana, the movement called on delegates, party faithful, youths, women, stakeholders and residents of Ikeja Federal Constituency to come out massively and support Faleke during the APC primaries.
According to the group, Rt. Hon. James Faleke has continued to distinguish himself as one of Nigeria’s most visible, accessible and people-oriented lawmakers through effective grassroots representation, empowerment initiatives and unwavering commitment to progressive politics.
The statement described Faleke as a tested, experienced and dependable leader whose legislative achievements and community development projects have earned him widespread respect across political and social circles.
“At a time when effective representation, legislative competence, loyalty to party ideals and strategic leadership are critically needed, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke remains the most qualified and credible candidate for the task ahead,” the statement read.
The group further highlighted Faleke’s contributions to human capital development, educational support initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, women inclusion, constituency intervention projects and party reconciliation efforts within the APC.
FWMRH noted that the lawmaker has consistently demonstrated commitment to democratic stability, grassroots development and responsive governance, making him a strong pillar within the ruling party.
“Beyond politics, Rt. Hon. Faleke has continually shown compassion, humility, accessibility and a deep connection with ordinary Nigerians — qualities that have endeared him to party members and constituents alike,” the statement added.
The women group stressed that continuity in quality representation remains essential to sustaining the developmental progress already witnessed in Ikeja Federal Constituency under Faleke’s leadership.
The movement therefore urged APC members and delegates to reject divisive politics and consolidate on proven leadership, competence, experience and credibility by voting overwhelmingly for the lawmaker during the direct primaries.
According to the statement, the forthcoming APC primary election goes beyond selecting a candidate, describing it as an opportunity to preserve effective representation, strengthen progressive leadership and advance the Renewed Hope agenda.
“We are confident that the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency will once again make the right choice by standing firmly with a leader who has consistently stood with them,” the group stated.
The Faleke Women Movement for Renewed Hope also called for unity, peace and collective participation among APC members ahead of the primaries.
