Aiyedatiwa Constitutes Ondo Cocoa Revolution Board to Boost Agriculture and Cocoa Production
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the constitution of the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board as part of his administration’s efforts to reposition agriculture and strengthen the state’s position as Nigeria’s leading cocoa-producing hub.
The newly constituted board is expected to spearhead the implementation of the state’s Cocoa Revolution Agenda, which is aimed at increasing cocoa production, improving farmers’ livelihoods, expanding the cocoa value chain and attracting greater investment into the agricultural sector.
According to the state government, the board will coordinate policies and programmes designed to modernise cocoa farming, promote sustainable agricultural practices, encourage stakeholder collaboration and enhance the overall competitiveness of Ondo’s cocoa industry.
The board is chaired by Mr. Omolade Fabiyi, with Alhaji Taiwo Ayoade, Dr. Jibayo Oyebade, Hon. Augustine Oloruntogbe, Akinbola Omolade Franklin and Tope Oni serving as members. Anthony Omolakin will serve as the Secretary.
Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the appointees and urged them to bring their wealth of experience and professionalism to bear in advancing the state’s agricultural development agenda. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting cocoa farmers through improved seedlings, access to finance, extension services and modern processing facilities to boost productivity and increase earnings.
The governor expressed confidence that the board would play a pivotal role in revitalising the cocoa industry, creating employment opportunities, attracting private-sector investment and promoting sustainable economic growth across cocoa-producing communities in Ondo State.
