Forest Raid Leads to Arrest of Six Suspected Kidnappers in Edo

Six suspected kidnappers have been arrested in Agbede Forest, located in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, following a coordinated security operation to dismantle criminal hideouts in the area.
The suspects were apprehended after security operatives acted on credible intelligence provided by a victim who had earlier escaped from captivity and was able to identify the kidnappers’ camp.
The joint security team, made up of personnel from various agencies, reportedly trekked several kilometres into the forest to reach the hideout. The operation was carried out with precision, leading to the successful arrest of the suspects without resistance.
Items suspected to be linked to kidnapping activities were also recovered during the operation, while the forest camp was dismantled.
The suspects have since been taken into custody and are currently undergoing further investigation by security authorities in Benin City, ahead of possible prosecution.
