PDP Primaries : O’kenny on the track of victory

Winners have emerged in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Ogun State.

They include Hon. Odewunmi Kehinde popularly known as O’kenny, who won the party’s ticket for the Odeda State Constituency
O’kenny vying for a seat at the Oke-mosan legislative building on Sunday polled 15 votes to defeat his closest rival, Adewuyi Taiwo who garnered 13 votes while Aderemi Bello polled 03 votes to complete the three horse race.

Nigeria Standard reports that the three ad-hoc delegates mode was used by the party while 31 accredited delegates voted during the primary election amidst tight security in the presence of the Party’s NWC supervising committee and the independent electoral commission.
The delegates were drawn from the ten wards that makes up Odeda Local Government Area.
Responding to the victory, O’kenny said that the votes were a result of his hard work, dedication and an indication that the people of Odeda State Constituency appreciate what he had been doing and his sacrifice over the years.
“I am very elated, the victory is for the people of this state constituency. The overwhelming votes were an indication that as a committed and loyal party man I performed to expectations.“We are just three in this contest. I will want my opponents to show the spirit of sportsmanship. We should work together and build a better and secured Odeda state Constituency to the benefit of all,” he said.
O’kenny said that the peaceful conduct of the election demonstrated the transparency PDP had been known for, adding that the party would continue to maintain it.
