Primate Ayodele Warns Tinubu to Heed Onaiyekan’s Concerns, Says Public Frustration May Affect 2027 Election
The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay close attention to the concerns raised by Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, warning that growing public dissatisfaction could have serious political consequences ahead of the 2027 general election.
Ayodele described Cardinal Onaiyekan’s remarks on Nigeria’s economic hardship and governance challenges as a reflection of the concerns of many Nigerians. He said the President should not ignore such views but instead focus on addressing the country’s economic and security challenges through policies that improve the lives of citizens.
The cleric also alleged that some individuals around the President were preventing him from receiving honest advice, claiming that Tinubu was being surrounded by people who tell him only what he wants to hear. He warned that such a situation could hinder the government’s ability to respond effectively to the needs of Nigerians.
Ayodele further cautioned that worsening economic hardship, insecurity and growing public frustration could shape the outcome of the 2027 presidential election if urgent steps are not taken to improve governance and citizens’ welfare. He stressed that Nigerians are looking for practical solutions to their daily challenges and urged the administration to prioritise policies that deliver tangible benefits to the people.
