President Tinubu swears-in Akume as Secretary to Government of the Federation


President Bola Tinubu, Wednesday, sworn-in George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The SGF in a brief ceremony which had in attendance dignitaries including some serving and former Governors, took Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
Present at the brief ceremony were the Vice President, Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan and the spouse of the new SGF, Regina Akume.
Others were the governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hycent Alia, former governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Almakura and the immediate past SGF, Boss Mustapha.
Akume was the immediate past Minister of Special Duties, under former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Governor of Benue State.
His appointment as SGF was announced last Friday by President Tinubu, in a statement signed by the State House spokesman, Abiodun Oladunjoye.
