Alleged Plot By APC Govt To Persecute El-rufai, Restrict Him From Leaving Nigeria Exposed – SDP

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has raised concerns over an alleged scheme by the Nigerian government to target opposition figures within the nation.
According to a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba, there are claims that the government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) has developed plans to press criminal charges against the former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The report, highlighted by source notes that El-Rufai had recently switched allegiance from the ruling APC to the SDP.
The statement accuses the ruling party of orchestrating a strategy to prevent El-Rufai from traveling outside Nigeria, with the alleged intent of creating an atmosphere of fear among opposition members and deterring more defections. The statement recounted that the SDP had obtained credible information indicating that the APC, worried about the growing influence of the SDP, is purportedly using its position of power to concoct criminal allegations against SDP affiliates. It is claimed that this targeted persecution is expected to begin with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, with imminent plans to initiate several legal actions against him in Abuja and Kaduna.
Moreover, it has come to light that the federal government may have allegedly directed its agencies to stop Mallam Nasir El-Rufai from leaving Nigeria.
