Araraume Denies Declaring Himself APC Governorship Candidate, Disowns Viral Statement

Former Imo State governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, has denied claims that he declared himself the party’s governorship candidate, describing a viral statement circulating on social media as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by his media team, Araraume said he neither authorised nor released the publication, urging party members and the general public to disregard it in its entirety.
He stressed that the document being circulated did not emanate from him or any of his authorised representatives, insisting that it was the handiwork of individuals seeking to create confusion within the party and misrepresent his political position.
Araraume reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals and constitution of the APC, noting that he remains a loyal member of the party and would continue to support lawful and transparent democratic processes.
He also cautioned supporters against spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary tension or misleading the public, urging them to rely only on official statements released through his recognised communication channels.
The former senator called on political stakeholders and members of the public to remain vigilant against fake news and misinformation, especially as political activities ahead of future elections continue to gather momentum.
The clarification comes amid increasing political consultations and realignments within the APC as preparations for upcoming electoral contests continue across the country.
