Ogun CP To Engage Youths In 3 Senatorial Districts On Discipline, Others
Ogun State Commissioner of Police (CP) Edward Ajogun has promised to engage youths in all the three senatorial districts in the state so as to discourage them from participating in any forms of criminality.
CP Ajogun disclosed this when the leadership of Ijebu Youth Association led by its President, Com. Fayomi Wasiu Okikiola, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Eleweran, Abeokuta on Friday.
The CP in his admonition said, ”We will be meeting the youths from time to time in order to discourage them from participating in any crimes. Statistics has shown that major crimes perpetrated are carried out by youths, and I feel that if we continue to engage them to know that crime doesn’t pay, they should be able to see reason why they should avoid crime.
“In a crime invested environment, the economy of that community will deteriorate and there is no way it can be of benefit to the youths. Where there is crime, you are not going to find the youths running smooth business such as restaurant, canteen, barbing saloon and so on up to midnight due to the fear of cultists.
”I don’t know why someone will go and join secret cult using human blood to take oath, killing themselves over flimsy issues. I will be engaging the youths because I believe they are intellects to engage me for the betterment of the society.
“I am advising them to stay away from crimes, but to do things that will glorify them,” he noted.
