Governors, Traditional Rulers, Others To Storm Oyo Town For K1’s Coronation As First Mayegun of Yorubaland
The ancient city of Oyo town is set to welcome traditional rulers and chiefs, top government officials, celebrities and other prominent personalities both within and outside the country for the coronation of the popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde (K1 De Ultimate) as the first ever Mayegun of Yorubaland.
The Fuji music icon will on Monday, 13th January, 2019 be installed as the Mayegun of Yorubaland by the revered Yoruba traditional ruler, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III who had made the pronouncement few weeks ago.
The coronation of the historic chieftaincy title, which will hold at the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo in Oyo State, is expected to be one of the most glamorous and memorable events the ancient town will be witnessing in recent times.
Expected to be present at the coronation ceremony are traditional rulers within and outside the Yoruba kingdom, Southwest governors, ministers, legislators both at the federal and state level, commissioners, other top government officials, various Yoruba traditional groups, celebrities and others.
It would be recalled that the ancient Oyo town had in January 2018 witnessed a similar glamorous event when the same respected Yoruba monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, formally installed the National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.
