Ex-Colleagues Charges Wema Bank’s Retirees To Be Good Ambassadors
IBADAN – Former staffers of Wema Bank Plc have charged fellow retirees of the bank to be great ambassadors of the bank anywhere they go and market the Bank’s services for incremental banking businesses and fully support the current capitalisation drive of the bank.
The Chairman, Group Admin Team of the Ex-Colleagues, Prince Wale Adedapo, gave the admonition on Saturday at the second reunion anniversary of the Ex-Colleagues to commemorate 80th anniversary of Wema Bank Plc held at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan.
Adedapo noted that the purpose of the reunion was to interact with former colleagues on issues of interests, dance together, eat, drink, have fun and crown it all, celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Wema Bank.
He charged the retirees to monitor their health status and continue to interact with their colleagues.
He thanked the management of Wema Bank for recognizing their inputs while in service.
“We appreciate the Bank’s Management for recognizing us as part of the Bank. Interestingly, the ‘Tokunbo’ vehicle of today was once a ‘tear rubber’ vehicle yesterday.
“The 1st Reunion was held in Lagos in February, 2022, it was a huge success. The 2nd Reunion is live in Ibadan today. We thank God for sparing our lives to be part of today’s event.
We are gathering here today for 2 reasons; namely; Reunion of Wema Ex-Colleagues; and 80th Anniversary Celebrations of our great institution – Wema Bank.
“Our coming together as a Group started in 2017 and it has been beneficial to all of us in so many ways:
1. Constantly keeping in touch with former colleagues
2. Financial members have benefited immensely from our Insurance Scheme.
3. The Group has also supported the weddings of our members’ children in cash and with our attendance.
4. We have been celebrating our birthdays and numerous achievements together.
5. Relevant articles and information sharing, devoid of political and religious posts, are shared on our Group’s platform.
6. Our membership is growing from strength to strength and numerically daily – with the current count in excess of 400 members.
“Remember, no one is getting younger anymore. We need to take good care of ourselves and continue to age gracefully to the Glory of God. Please enjoy yourself.
“Let us continue to be great ambassadors of Wema Bank anywhere we go in marketing the Bank’s services for incremental banking businesses and fully support the current capitalisation drive of the bank
“In the spirit of teamwork, the Bank will reach the greatest heights possible in the Nigerian banking industry.
Highlight of the Ex-Colleagues reunion includes; cultural display by Oyo State Cultural Troupe, raffle draw, speeches, networking, medical outreach and musical performance.
