Closure Of Schools Inimical To The Progress Of Nigerian Students-Ijebu Youth President


The National President, Ijebu Youth Association, comrade Fayomi Wasiu Okikiola has appealed to the federal government to lift ban on closure of schools across the country.
Comrade Okikiola who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Ijebu, Ogun State , begged Buhari to allow Nigerian students to go back to schools to complete their studies.
He maintained that anything contrary to reopening of schools was counterproductive and inimical to the progress of Nigerian youth, saying that it will be vehemently resisted.
”Our leadership equally felt the decision of the federal government on reopening of schools as callous to the masses.
”We are urging the government to consider the future of Nigerian youths
in their policymaking”
The Ijebu Youth president charged federal government not to endanger the future of our students because of covid-19.
”Proactive measures must be taken for the resumption. This is what a reasonable government should look after and see how we can survive with the disease
While responding to questions on the continuous weekly lockdown Ogun State, he said that the government was taking her time to study the situation before making decision on the total freedom.
He said, ” Let’s be patient and trust the state governor, prince Dapo Abiodun, i believe we will get out of this very soon”
He advised Nigerian youths to be law abiding c and stay away from crimes
”I want them to be hardworking in all ramifications so that the labour of our dead heroes will not be in vain.
Meanwhile, the president of Ijebu Youth Association has during the trying period extended hands of fellowship to
fellow youths of ijebu land by giving them palliative across the 6 local government of ijebu land with the aid of some philanthropists like Professor arigbabu d vice chancellor of Tasued , HRH oba KASALI of ITELE
He also distributed palliatives to the correctional home, Igbeba ijebu ode during this pandemic with d support of the first lady of Ogun state, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun
