Tinubu Opens Gateway Airport as Obasanjo, Akpabio Applaud Abiodun’s Development Strides
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially inaugurated the Gateway International Airport located in Iperu-Ilishan, Ogun State, receiving widespread praise from prominent national leaders including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The airport project, alongside the launch of a state-backed airline, represents a major milestone in the infrastructure agenda of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun. The initiative is aimed at enhancing economic growth, improving connectivity, and positioning the state as a key investment hub.
During the commissioning ceremony, President Tinubu commended the governor for his foresight and commitment to development, describing the airport as a strategic asset that will boost commerce and regional integration. He emphasized the importance of sustained investment in infrastructure as a driver of national economic progress.
Former President Obasanjo also praised the project, highlighting its practical benefits, particularly in reducing travel time and improving accessibility within Ogun State and its surrounding regions.
