Thousands of APC Supporters Hold ‘Thank You’ Rally in Ilorin Ahead of 2027 General Elections
Thousands of members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, for a “Thank You” rally held to celebrate the successful conduct of the party’s primary elections and demonstrate support for its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, known as the Kwara Ndupe Rally, attracted party leaders, elected officials, candidates, and supporters from across the state. Participants marched through major roads in Ilorin, displaying party banners, placards, and branded attire while expressing confidence in the APC’s chances in the next election.
The rally also reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the APC governorship candidate, Yakubu Danladi Salihu, and other party flagbearers. Speakers at the event described the large turnout as evidence of unity within the party despite recent internal disagreements.
Addressing supporters, party leaders urged members to sustain the momentum by encouraging voter registration, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls. They stressed that the party intends to campaign on its record in governance while maintaining cohesion among its members.
The rally came as another APC bloc in the state postponed a planned solidarity gathering following consultations aimed at resolving internal differences, a development party leaders said reflects ongoing reconciliation efforts within the Kwara chapter.
