Ogun Police Arrest Man who allegedly Raped Prophetess In Church

Operatives of the Ogun State Police command have apprehended a suspect, Sunday Olalekan over allegation of raping a prophetess in a church in the State.

Sunday, aged 40, allegedly committed the crime last Thursday when he stormed the church, Orioke Aanu Oluwa Gbohunmi, in the Ilogbo area of Kemta in Abeokuta, the state capital with weapons.

He was said to have held the prophetess hostage, and threatened to kill her if she fails to surrender herself to him.

It was reported that when the prophetess’s call did not yield results, she started pleading with the suspect to pity her.

Despite several pleas with Sunday, the suspect was said to have insisted on her having sex with the prophetess.

After finally forcing her into submission and allegedly raping the prophetess, the victim was said to have approached a nearby police station, where the matter was reported.

The police after launching a manhunt for the suspect who had fled, later arrested him on Monday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, while confirming the incident and the arrest, said the prophetess recognised the suspect as a mason and labourer in the area.
