Ogun Police Applauds PCRC Over Successful Imeko/Afon 2026 Leadership Retreat
The Ogun State Police Command has commended the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) for the successful completion of its 2026 Leadership Training Retreat, code-named Imeko/Afon 2026, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening community policing and enhancing security collaboration across the state.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the PCRC leadership, particularly the State Chairman, Ven. Dr. Samson Kunle Popoola, for demonstrating visionary leadership and commitment to capacity building within the committee. He noted that the retreat reflects a proactive approach to improving the effectiveness of community-driven policing strategies.
The police boss, who was represented at the event by the Area Commander, Imeko, ACP Mustapha Adewale, alongside other senior officers, reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s recognition of the PCRC as a vital partner in intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and fostering public trust. He assured members of the committee of the Command’s continued support and collaboration in promoting safety and security.
Ojajuni further emphasized the importance of sustained stakeholder engagement, urging PCRC members to build on the success of the retreat by intensifying their involvement in grassroots policing initiatives across Ogun State. He stressed that stronger cooperation between the police and the community remains key to protecting lives and property.
The Command reiterated its commitment to working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safer environment for residents, while encouraging continuous dialogue and partnership in addressing security challenges.
