Ogbomoso Group Calls for Three-Day Prayer Over Abducted Schoolchildren, Teachers and Rising Insecurity

Ogbomoso, Oyo State – The President of the Progressive Vision Movement (PVM), Omo Oba Gbadegeshin Alade, has called on all Christian leaders, churches, bishops, reverends, pastors, and Christian associations across Ogbomosoland to set aside three days for intensive prayer and fasting for the restoration of peace and the safe release of abducted schoolchildren, their teachers, and other victims currently in the custody of kidnappers.

In a statement released on Saturday, Alade expressed deep concern over the rising security challenges in Ogbomosoland, particularly the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in recent weeks, describing the situation as painful and unprecedented in a land historically known for peace, safety, and strong Christian values.

According to him, the continued captivity of innocent children and their teachers has brought fear and anxiety to families, schools, religious institutions, and the entire Ogbomoso community.

“Ogbomosoland has always been known as a peaceful and God-fearing land. The recent incidents involving the abduction of our schoolchildren and teachers have left many families in anguish. This is a moment for the entire Christian community to unite and seek divine intervention,” he said.

Alade urged all bishops, reverends, pastors, prophets, evangelists, and Christian organizations to rise above denominational differences and dedicate three days to prayer and fasting, calling on the God of their fathers to intervene and secure the safe return of the abducted children and their teachers.

“We must cry unto God for the preservation of the lives of these innocent children and their teachers who remain in the custody of kidnappers. We pray that no harm will come upon them and that God will touch the hearts of their captors for their immediate and unconditional release,” he stated.

The PVM president emphasized that the proposed spiritual exercise should focus on seeking God’s mercy, protection, peace, and divine intervention against insecurity, violence, fear, and all forms of criminal activities threatening the peace of Ogbomosoland.

He further appealed to churches across the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland to organize special prayer sessions, vigils, and intercessory gatherings dedicated to the safe rescue of the abducted victims and the restoration of peace throughout the region.

“Our forefathers relied on God in times of distress, and He answered them. This is another opportunity for us to call upon the Almighty God to rescue our children, protect our teachers, strengthen their families, and restore lasting peace to Ogbomosoland,” Alade added.

While commending security agencies for their ongoing efforts, he urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement authorities, and continue providing useful information that could assist in securing the release of the victims.

He expressed confidence that through collective prayers, unity, and determined action, Ogbomosoland would overcome its current security challenges and return to its long-standing reputation as a peaceful and secure community.

The Progressive Vision Movement reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote peace, security, community development, and the protection of lives and property across Ogbomosoland.ecurity, and Safe Return of Abducted Schoolchildren
