OBIdient and Kwankwasiyya Diaspora Leaders Unite to Strengthen Democratic Engagement Ahead of 2027 Elections
Diaspora leaders of the OBIdient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya political movement have agreed to work together to deepen democratic engagement, promote national unity and encourage greater participation of Nigerians living abroad in the country’s democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leaders reached the understanding during a strategic meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the two political movements. They stressed the importance of issue-based politics, civic participation and constructive dialogue as Nigeria prepares for another electoral cycle.
According to the participants, the partnership is aimed at mobilising Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute meaningfully to democratic governance through advocacy, policy discussions and support for initiatives that promote transparency, accountability and credible elections.
The diaspora leaders also emphasised the need for peaceful political participation, national cohesion and electoral reforms capable of strengthening democratic institutions. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together on issues that advance good governance and the overall development of Nigeria.
They noted that Nigerians living abroad possess valuable expertise, experience and resources that can contribute significantly to national development, urging greater collaboration between citizens at home and in the diaspora in shaping the country’s democratic future.
