Ize-Iyamu Accepts Edo South APC Primary Outcome, Calls for Party Unity Ahead of 2027

Former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has accepted the outcome of the party’s Edo South Senatorial District primary election, calling on members to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued after the primary, Ize-Iyamu congratulated the winner of the contest and urged party faithful to put aside their differences in the interest of the APC’s collective success.
He noted that while electoral contests naturally produce winners and losers, the party’s ultimate objective should be securing victory in future elections through unity, discipline and mutual respect.
Ize-Iyamu thanked his supporters, political associates and delegates who stood by him throughout the primary process, expressing appreciation for their loyalty, commitment and confidence in his leadership.
The APC chieftain appealed to his supporters to remain calm and continue working for the growth of the party, stressing that personal ambition should never be placed above the collective interest of the APC.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals and progress of the ruling party, pledging to continue contributing to its development in Edo State and across the country.
Political observers have described Ize-Iyamu’s acceptance of the primary outcome as a move aimed at strengthening party cohesion and preventing post-primary divisions that often affect political parties ahead of major elections.
The APC is expected to intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections as stakeholders continue consultations to consolidate support across Edo State.
