Federal Lawmaker, Olumide Osoba donates two 300KVA Transformers to Ogun communities


The Ikereku, ilawo, Idomapa, Ago Odo and ilewo orile communities in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun State, heaved a sigh of relief, as the member representing Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi Owode Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba donated two 300KVA transformers to boost public power to the area, particularly Ilewo and Isaga Orile where residents have been battling with perpetual darkness for years.
Speaking shortly after handing over the transformers to the community leaders, Hon Olumide Osoba represented by his legislative aide, Oluwaseun Akinpelu expressed hope that the he was donating to the community, would help to improve the sagging public power supply to the rural community.
Hon. Osoba who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports was not particularly happy that the only transformer in Ilewo orile, was the one Olusegun Osoba led government donated to the community several years ago which is now faulty, thereby crippling local economic activities of the people.
He appealed to the community leaders to jealously guard the equipments, adding that it is far better to add new things to what was given than to replace things earlier acquired.
He equally promised to continue put members of his constituency first in all of his programmes.
Responding, Representatives of the communities, Adekunle Kolawole, Peter Enitan and Prince Mukaila Oniyide explained that the communities has been in darkness for some time and all efforts made by the people were futile.
They commended Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba for redefining quality, effective and people-oriented representation, even as he also the opportunity to call on other elected officers to borrow a leaf from him.
Among the numerous developmental Projects embarked upon by Rt Hon. Olumide Osoba, the donation of transformers is part of the Rt. Hon Olumide Osoba light up community Initiative.
