Tinubu Addressing Decades of Neglected Road Infrastructure, Says Senator Nwaebonyi
The Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, has defended the infrastructure agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the administration inherited a large number of dilapidated federal roads and is working aggressively to reverse years of neglect.
According to the lawmaker, the poor condition of road infrastructure across the country did not develop overnight but accumulated over several administrations, leaving the current government with enormous rehabilitation and reconstruction challenges.
Nwaebonyi said the Tinubu administration has prioritised infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda by investing heavily in the rehabilitation of major highways and the construction of strategic road networks aimed at improving transportation, trade, and economic activities nationwide.
He maintained that ongoing road projects across different regions demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to closing Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit and enhancing connectivity between communities and commercial centres.
The senator urged Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the administration, expressing confidence that the ongoing investments in road infrastructure would yield long-term economic benefits, improve mobility, and stimulate national development.
