Ogun Police Launch Investigation Into Incident Involving OGITECH Students in Igbesa
The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an immediate investigation into an incident involving students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, and police officers attached to the Igbesa Division.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered a thorough and comprehensive probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Command stated that the investigation is aimed at establishing the facts of the matter while assuring members of the public that due process would be strictly followed throughout the inquiry.
The police further emphasized that any officer found guilty of misconduct during the investigation would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with existing police regulations.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the protection of citizens’ rights, the Ogun State Police Command appealed to OGITECH students and members of the student community to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding while investigations continue.
The Command also assured residents that justice would be served without compromise and promised to make the outcome of the investigation public after the process is concluded.
