The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State has appointed Hon. Olukayode Ezekiel Salako as Chairman of its Election Campaign and Flag-Off Committee ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appointment, approved by the office of the Executive Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof, was announced by the APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, at a stakeholders’ meeting on Friday, October 9, 2026.
The development places Salako at the centre of the party’s campaign coordination in the local government, with responsibility for bringing together party leaders, ward structures, stakeholders and supporters for campaign activities and official flag-off programmes.
The appointment also adds to Salako’s recent involvement in the Lagos APC campaign structure. In September, he was reported as a member of the Lagos State APC Governorship Campaign Council, serving in the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate.
Other members announced alongside Salako are Hon. Rafiu Adenopo, appointed as Public Relations Officer, and Hon. Prince Adekunle Adewale Kehinde (Agboni), who will serve as Secretary.
The committee is expected to coordinate campaign programmes, mobilise party members and stakeholders, and supervise arrangements for campaign flag-offs within Oshodi/Isolo.
According to the announcement, additional stakeholders and members of various subcommittees will be unveiled subsequently.
The committee’s immediate major assignment is the organisation of a mega declaration and campaign flag-off for Mayowa Alakija, the APC candidate/project for the Lagos State House of Assembly race in Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I.
The proposed event is expected to attract APC leaders, political stakeholders, ward executives, supporters and other invited guests as the party begins a more coordinated mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.
The Alakija candidacy has already featured prominently in Oshodi/Isolo APC’s internal political activities this year. Reports in May said Alakija emerged from the APC primary for Constituency I, defeating incumbent lawmaker Stephen Ogundipe, although subsequent reports documented disputes and competing claims surrounding the primary and candidate status.
The latest appointment therefore comes against a backdrop of significant political activity within Oshodi/Isolo APC.
The local government has remained an active political arena, with party leaders engaging in grassroots mobilisation, candidate consultations and other activities ahead of the 2027 elections. The APC’s local leadership, including Animashaun, has also featured prominently in constituency and grassroots programmes during 2026.
With Salako now designated to coordinate the campaign and flag-off committee, attention is expected to shift toward the structure, date and scale of the proposed Alakija campaign launch.
The committee will also be expected to harmonise the participation of ward leaders, political groups and other stakeholders to ensure that campaign activities follow the party’s organisational plans.
The coming weeks could therefore provide a clearer picture of how the Oshodi/Isolo APC campaign structure will be deployed ahead of the 2027 electoral contests.
