Osun 2026: APC Targets Victory Over Governor Adeleke in Governorship Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has declared its readiness to unseat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming August 15, 2026 governorship election.
During the inauguration of the party’s campaign committees in Osogbo, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, expressed confidence that the ruling administration would be defeated at the polls.
Oke stated that the APC and its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, are well-positioned to reclaim power, emphasizing that the party possesses the structure, experience, and grassroots support needed to overcome a sitting government.
He noted that the party’s campaign strategy would focus on mobilization at the grassroots level while highlighting perceived shortcomings in governance. According to him, key sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture require urgent attention, alleging that service delivery has declined under the current administration.
The APC leadership also assured residents that an Oyebamiji-led government would prioritize economic growth, infrastructure development, and improved welfare for citizens.
In response, the Adeleke administration dismissed the opposition’s claims as politically driven, maintaining that the government has achieved significant progress across various sectors.
Officials expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would secure a second term, insisting that the electorate would ultimately decide based on performance.
With the election drawing closer, political activities are expected to intensify as parties prepare for a highly competitive contest.
