Otti Backs Tinubu, Describes Fuel Subsidy Removal as Bold Step

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has thrown his support behind President Bola Tinubu, describing the removal of fuel subsidy as a courageous and necessary decision to stabilise Nigeria’s economy.
Otti said the policy, though difficult, was long overdue and required strong political will to implement. He noted that successive administrations had avoided taking such a step despite its importance to economic reforms.
The governor explained that Nigeria had for years operated an unsustainable system, stressing that the current hardship being experienced is part of the correction process needed to put the economy on a sound footing.
He maintained that tough decisions like subsidy removal are essential for long-term growth, adding that the country must remain patient and focused to achieve lasting economic stability.
Otti also reaffirmed his support for the Tinubu administration, stating that national progress should take precedence over political differences.
