The Deputy leader of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA), Timothy Shorunke has emerged as the leader of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Abeokuta District Society to run its affairs.
The CITN elected the new leader as the, the Administration of FCTI, led by Oluwaseun Olujube ended its tenure.
This development was confirmed at the 19th Annual General Meeting of the District to commemorate it’s 2021 Tax Week with the theme, “Documentation Requirements for Filing Tax Returns” held recently in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
According to the information received by our correspondent, the new leadership will be headed by Mr. Timothy Erigbemi Shorunke, FCTI as Chairman of Abeokuta District Society.
Also, Mrs Oluyomi Dawodu emerged Vice Chairman at its 19th annual general meeting (AGM) of the district.
Shorunke who started his educational career at Abeokuta Local Government Primary School, Ita Bayinbo, Abeokuta in the early seventies and proceeded to the prestigious Lantoro High school, Abeokuta where he completed his secondary education in June 1987, and joined the defunct National Electric Power Authorithy (NEPA) same year until he disengaged with the defunct PHCN in February 2008.
He gained admission to Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (Now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta) in 1991 and completed his HND, Accountancy in December, 1996, with upper credits.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 1997 and joined CITN on September 17, 1999 and became an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria since May 2000.
He completed his MBA, Marketing Management with Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho in year 2000.
Shorunke also completed his BSc. Accounting at Olabisi Onabanjo University in year 2011 with second class (upper division) and presently undergoing his M.sc Accounting programme with Crescent University, Abeokuta.
He is also a graduate member of Nigeria Institute of Management, NIM since year 2003.
Presently, he is the Managing Consultant at SETH Consulting, Abeokuta, a firm of Tax Practitioners and Consultants, with licensed No 602, on 21st April, 2011, to carry out Tax practices in Nigeria by The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN.
Also the Managing Partner of Gbemi Shorunke & Co , (Chartered Accountants), Abeokuta, a firm of Chartered Accountants with licensed no PL 012921, dated March 14, 2016, to carry out a statutory audit in Nigeria by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN.
Shorunke who was recently elected as the 2nd Deputy President of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA), emerged as the Chairman of CITN, Abeokuta and District society on Wednesday 21st April, 2021 to steer the ship of the District society for year 2021 to 2023.
Shorunke was recently elected as the 2nd Deputy President of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABEOCCIMA).
