Tinubu’s presidential ambition is to rescue Nigeria from imminent collapse, says APC Chieftain, Odunowo
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Otunba Abayomi Odunowo has declared that the presidential ambition of the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a rescue mission to save Nigeria from imminent collapse.
He made the declaration while speaking with newsmen ahead of the inauguration of a political pressure group, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Support Group, AATSG.
Odunowo, a one time gubernatorial aspirant of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, said given the current political and economic realities presently facing Nigeria, Tinubu is the best candidate for the APC to sustain the gains made so far by the party and lead the country into the future.
He noted that having being at the forefront of the struggles for the enthronement of democracy in 1999 and given his stellar performance as a two term governor of Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria, Tinubu has the wherewithal to challenge for the presidency and emerge victorious.
He said the rescue mission was for the common man to feel governance irrespective of where they come from or their political leanings. According to him, Tinubu, if elected president, will put the round peg in the round hole.
Odunowo, who served as the Senior Special Assistant in Ogun State under the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun warned that if APC makes any mistake of choosing another candidate other than Tinubu, the opportunity to consolidate on the gains made by the party so far may be lost as opposition party may defeat any other would be candidate except Tinubu.
Asked about his organisation, AATSG,’s strategy to mobilize support for Tinubu across the country, he said it was the goal of his group to knock on every door across the nation to let inhabitants of each house know why Tinubu is the best choice.
He confidently told newsmen that when dust of presidential election of 2023 settles, “it would be President Tinubu directing the affairs of the country.”
He said, ” Make no mistake about it , Tinubu is the right candidate for our party the APC and the best candidate for the country. Look around you. Check the background of all those jostling to be president within our party and even other political parties and tell me anyone that can match Tinubu”s experience both in public and private administration.”
“The truth is Tinubu was at the centre of restoration of democracy back into Nigeria at great expense and threat to his life. He became governor of Lagos and set a standard that represents excellence. Successive governments are still implementing his master plan.
” That’s a personality Nigeria needs now. A builder of men. Someone that has eyes for excellence. And we are ready, with the backing of our grand matron Iyaloja Folasade Tinubu, we will make it happen. AATSG is ready to knock on every door across this great nation to tell our people, to show them Tinubu”s track record, and we are confident of convincing enough voters to make him president.”.
He said the official inauguration of the national executives of AATSG comes up on the 9th and 10th of December.
