The move is aimed at integrating recent defectors into the campaign organisation and strengthening grassroots mobilisation as the election draws closer. The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council, chaired by Representative Bamidele Salam.
Among those appointed into the council’s apex body are Hon. Folorunsho Bamisayemi, Hon. Ismaila Kolawole, Dr. Tunde Alarape, Hon. Tona Famadewa, Barrister Sunday Ojo Williams, Barrister Ayo Afilaka, Hon. Lekan Oyediran, Hon. Aleem Bakare, Alhaji Mutiu Omotayo, Hon. Semiu Afolabi, and Hon. Taiwo Akeju.
Several other party leaders were also assigned to strategic committees responsible for mobilisation, voter education, reconciliation, research, planning, electoral matters, and inter-party relations.
As part of the restructuring, Alhaji Jamiu Olawumi was appointed Director of Strategic Communications, while Dr. Desmond Ojumu joined the Medical Committee. Other appointees were deployed to the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, Reconciliation Committee, Research, Planning and Strategy Committee, Electoral Matters Committee, and Inter-Party Relations Committee.
The campaign organisation also established an Election Surveillance and Voter Education Committee, a new unit expected to strengthen voter awareness, election monitoring, and grassroots engagement ahead of the governorship poll.
Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, congratulated the newly appointed members and expressed confidence that their experience, political influence, and commitment would enhance the campaign and improve the party’s chances of securing victory in the forthcoming election.
