Sowore Explains Decision to Reject Invitation to Ibadan Opposition Summit

Human rights activist and presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has revealed why he declined an invitation to attend an opposition summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Sowore stated that his decision was based on concerns about the purpose and credibility of the gathering, emphasizing that he does not align with what he described as opportunistic political coalitions. He noted that many of such meetings are often driven by personal interests rather than genuine commitment to transformative governance.
According to him, meaningful political change requires consistency, integrity, and clear ideological direction, rather than last-minute alliances. Sowore reiterated his commitment to a people-driven movement, stressing that he would only associate with platforms that genuinely reflect the interests and aspirations of Nigerians.
