Gentle The Yahoo: Military Places N30m Bounty on Wanted Suspect
The Nigerian military has intensified its security operations in the South-East with a ₦30 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, popularly known as “Gentle The Yahoo.”
The Joint Task Force South-East, Operation UDO KA, announced the bounty after declaring Okorienta wanted over alleged activities considered a threat to peace and security in the region.
According to a wanted notice issued by the task force, anyone who provides credible information that leads security agencies to the suspect could receive the ₦30 million reward.
The development signals a renewed push by security forces to track down individuals suspected of involvement in violence and other criminal activities across the South-East.
The task force appealed to residents and other members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful intelligence that could assist ongoing operations.
Okorienta’s photograph was also displayed in the wanted notice as authorities widened efforts to locate him.
The military, however, cautioned members of the public against attempting to confront the wanted suspect personally. Instead, anyone with credible information about his whereabouts was advised to contact the appropriate security authorities.
The Joint Task Force stressed the importance of public cooperation in tackling insecurity, urging residents to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and curbing criminal activities in the region.
The ₦30 million bounty represents a significant escalation in the search for Okorienta and underscores the importance security authorities have attached to locating and arresting him.
Operation UDO KA has been involved in security operations across the South-East as the military and other security agencies continue efforts to combat violence and strengthen security in communities across the geopolitical zone.
