The Director General of the Tinubu-Shettima Progressive Grassroots Mobilization (TSPGM), Hon. Princess Kikelomo Ikuomola, has issued a strong message to the leadership of the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that any political movement that sidelines Nigerian youth is bound to fail.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Princess Ikuomola emphasized that young Nigerians are no longer satisfied with token roles or recycled political rhetoric. She called on the ADC and other emerging parties to place youth at the center of their agenda—not on the sidelines.
“This is not the time for empty promises or cosmetic appointments. Young Nigerians want real power, real access, and real leadership roles,” Ikuomola said.
She pointed to President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a bold example of strategic youth inclusion, noting the president’s decision to appoint several young Nigerians into key leadership and decision-making positions.
“Whether you agree with his politics or not, President Tinubu is demonstrating a clear willingness to empower youth. That is something most of these so-called ‘new platforms’ and political coalitions haven’t matched,” she said.
The TSPGM DG urged young Nigerians to think strategically and support platforms where their voices are genuinely valued and elevated.
“You cannot claim to be forming a progressive movement if the very people who represent the future are being ignored. If President Tinubu is creating space for youth to lead, then show up, step up, and take your place,” she added.
Princess Ikuomola challenged opposition parties and political startups to match words with action in creating opportunities for the youth, warning that any serious national reform must begin with meaningful inclusion.
“Refuse to settle for less. The era of recycled leadership must end. Youth must lead—not just clap from the background,” she declared.
The statement comes amid growing youth engagement with new political alternatives like the ADC, raising questions about whether these platforms can offer more than just the old politics in new packaging.
