Makinde Commends Tinubu, Service Chiefs for Successful Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the nation’s Service Chiefs and security agencies for their roles in the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Makinde described the operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against insecurity, commending the coordinated efforts of the military, intelligence agencies and other security operatives whose professionalism led to the safe return of the victims after weeks in captivity.
The governor also acknowledged the commitment of President Tinubu to protecting the lives of Nigerians, noting that the Federal Government’s support and collaboration with Oyo State played a crucial role in the success of the rescue mission.
Makinde praised the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff and other heads of security agencies for deploying the necessary resources and intelligence that made the operation successful. He said the outcome demonstrates what can be achieved through effective collaboration among security institutions.
While welcoming the rescued pupils and teachers back to their families, the governor sympathised with those who lost loved ones during the unfortunate incident and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State.
He assured residents that the state government would continue working closely with the Federal Government and security agencies to improve intelligence gathering, protect schools and ensure criminals have no safe haven in the state.
Governor Makinde urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to security agencies, stressing that community participation remains vital to sustaining peace and tackling criminal activities.
