As islamic faithful in Nigeria commences fasting for the Holy Month of Ramadan today, 23rd March, 2023 being the 1st of Ramadan 1444AH.
A Former Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Rt. Hon.Tola Idris Banjo felicitated with Muslims for witnessing yet another Ramadan, s month filled Allah’s unending Blessings.
In a congratulatory message, the Ogun Ex-lawmaker encouraged Muslims to use the 30 days fasting period to pray to Almighty Allah to restore the lost glory of the Nation.
Hon. Banjo enjoined fasting Muslims to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, kindness, generosity, and gratitude.
“As a Muslim, this Holy Month is packaged for sober reflection, spiritual growth, forgiveness, patience and resilience.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad used to spend generously on the poor and the needy during this period, I want to urged Muslims in the country and all over the world to copy the good example and extend hands of fellowship to the underprivileged members of our society” he said.
He prayed Allah to grant all Muslims the strength to successfully complete the fasting period.
