Police nabs Trans-Border Kidnapper With N2.3m Cash In Kwara Forest
Operatives of the Nigerian Police, Kwara State Command at the weekend apprehended one Mohammed Alo, a citizen of Benin Republic, alleged to be a suspected trans-border kidnapper.
According to the police, the suspect was nabbed in Kosubosu Forest, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State with the assistance of local vigilantes.
The Command said items recovered from Mohammed included; one locally-made gun, a machete, jackknife, two handsets of different makes, one bluetooth and N2.3m cash.
‘The suspect confessed to being a member of a trans-border kidnapping gang, whose other members are now in Benin Republic. The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded”, a statement by the command’s spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, disclosed.
