PEPT Verdict : Ogun YII Coordinator, Congratulates Tinubu, Nigerians
The State Coordinator of Youth Inclusive Initiative, YII, Ogun State, Comrade Akinpelu Abdullahi has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal (PEPT) last Wednesday, describing it as a victory for all Nigerians.
In a congratulatory message, Comrade Akinpelu hailed the tribunal’s verdict affirming the president’s victory in the 2023 presidential polls.
The presidential election tribunal on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar as well as that of the Labour Party, (LP) and its Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi putting to rest all the controversies that trailed the March 18 Presidential Elections.
The judgment by the five-member tribunal was read by Justice Tsammani.
The tribunal ruled each of the arguments by the PDP, Atiku Abubakar and his lLP counterpart, Peter Obi against them.
Justice Tsammani said the petitioners failed to prove their petition beyond reasonable doubt and the petition was dismissed in its entirety.
The YII State Coordinator said the judiciary has again proved itself strong in the protection of democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.
“I am elated to congratulate the President on his victory at the tribunal. Ab initio, I had no doubt whatsoever in my mind that the President would come out victorious, considering the massive support Nigerians gave him before and during the March 18th Presidential Election.
“May I also congratulate the Nigerian Judiciary for living up to expectations by doing the right thing. With this judgment, a precedent has been set for electoral matters in the country,” he said.
