Ondo Governor Urged to Stay Focused as Two Aides Resign, More Exits Loom
Political developments continue to unfold in Ondo State as two Special Advisers (SAs) in the cabinet of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have resigned from their positions, with indications that three more may soon follow.
A reliable source within government circles disclosed that the recent resignations may not be the last, as signs point to additional shake-ups within the cabinet in the coming days. While official reasons for the resignations remain unclear, the development has sparked conversations across the state’s political landscape.
Reacting to the situation, Mrs. Adesua Kehinde, speaking on behalf of the Ondo State for Good Governance Forum, expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership and urged him not to be distracted by the unfolding events.
“We in the Ondo State for Good Governance Forum are fully aware of what is happening,” she said on Tuesday morning. “Our dear Governor should not be deterred. The brains behind these ordeals are individuals who are desperately scheming to become governor of our dear state, despite questionable records and fake credentials.”
Mrs. Kehinde alleged that those exiting the administration were among those who had consistently created internal challenges for the governor. According to her, their departure would ultimately allow the administration to focus more effectively on governance and service delivery.
“All those who have left are the same people who have been giving the governor unnecessary problems. He should allow them to go so he can concentrate properly and continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ondo State,” she stated.
She further maintained that the governor’s policies have significantly improved the state’s economy, attracting investors and boosting confidence in the administration’s direction. As the governor approaches his first year in office, she expressed optimism that his achievements would speak for themselves.
“Very soon, he will celebrate one year in office with remarkable achievements. The economy of the state has greatly improved because of his investor-friendly policies. Our dear Governor must remain focused. We know those who want to reap where they did not sow. They do not genuinely love our state, and we cannot entrust power to such individuals,” she added.
Political observers say the coming weeks will reveal whether the anticipated additional resignations materialize and how they may impact the administration’s stability. However, supporters of the governor insist that the current developments will only strengthen his resolve to steer the state toward sustained growth and development.
