Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Denies Criminal Links, Promises Peaceful Governorship Campaign
An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has dismissed allegations linking his political ambition to criminal activities, insisting that his campaign is built on integrity, peace and service to the people.
Oyebamiji said attempts by political opponents to associate his governorship aspiration with criminality were false, malicious and aimed at tarnishing his reputation ahead of the party’s primary election.
The APC chieftain maintained that his political journey has been guided by transparency, accountability and respect for the rule of law. He urged his supporters and members of the public to disregard what he described as baseless accusations intended to distract him from his vision for Osun State.
According to him, his campaign is focused on presenting practical solutions to the challenges facing the state, including economic development, youth empowerment, quality education, improved healthcare, infrastructure and job creation.
Oyebamiji stressed that the forthcoming governorship election should be driven by ideas, competence and credible leadership rather than blackmail, misinformation and character assassination.
He called on political stakeholders to promote peaceful campaigns and issue-based politics, saying democracy can only flourish in an atmosphere of fairness, tolerance and mutual respect.
The governorship hopeful also reaffirmed his commitment to working with party leaders, supporters and the electorate to build a stronger and more prosperous Osun State if elected.
He appealed to residents of the state to remain peaceful throughout the political process and reject divisive narratives capable of undermining the credibility of the electoral process.
