Ogun Police Arrest 17 Suspected Cultists, Rescue Kidnap Victim in Security Operations
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 17 suspected cultists and rescued a kidnapped victim during separate intelligence-led operations aimed at combating violent crime and strengthening public safety across the state.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended during coordinated raids carried out in identified criminal hideouts following credible intelligence. The command said several incriminating items were recovered from the suspects, while investigations have commenced to determine their level of involvement in cult-related activities and other criminal offences.
In a separate operation, police operatives successfully rescued a kidnap victim from the abductors after a swift tactical response. The victim was recovered unharmed, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate responsible for the crime.
The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against cultism, kidnapping and other violent crimes across Ogun State. He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information that would aid the fight against criminal elements.
