NFF Unveils New Coaches for Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles Ahead of International Competitions
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of new coaching crews for the country’s youth national teams, the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, as preparations intensify for upcoming international tournaments.
The football body confirmed the appointments following the approval of its executive committee, with the move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s youth football structure and maintaining competitiveness on the global stage.
For the Golden Eaglets, Manu Garba returns as head coach, bringing years of experience in youth football development. Garba previously guided Nigeria to victory at the FIFA U-17 World Cup and is expected to oversee the rebuilding process of the team ahead of future qualifiers and championships.
Meanwhile, Aliyu Zubairu has been appointed head coach of the Flying Eagles. Zubairu earned recognition for his impressive performances at club level and is expected to lead the U-20 side in preparations for continental and global assignments.
The NFF stated that the appointments reflect its commitment to youth development and the discovery of talented players capable of representing Nigeria at the highest level.
Football stakeholders have welcomed the decision, expressing optimism that the newly appointed coaches will revive the fortunes of the national youth teams and sustain Nigeria’s reputation as a powerhouse in African football.
