ADC Confirms David Okumgba as Rivers Deputy Governorship Candidate for 2027 Election
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially confirmed David Amapakaye Okumgba as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 Rivers State governorship election, completing the party’s ticket ahead of the polls.
Okumgba will run alongside the ADC’s governorship flag bearer, Dr. Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson, as the party intensifies preparations for what is expected to be a keenly contested election in Rivers State.
According to the party, Okumgba’s emergence followed consultations with stakeholders and party leaders across the state. The ADC said the decision was aimed at presenting a balanced ticket capable of attracting broad support and strengthening its electoral chances in 2027.
Party officials described Okumgba as a seasoned political figure with grassroots appeal, expressing confidence that his experience and understanding of the state’s political landscape would complement the governorship candidate’s vision for Rivers State.
