NDLEA Arrests Edo Couple, Uncovers Major Drug Warehouse in Edo
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a couple in Edo State after operatives uncovered a suspected drug warehouse stocked with large quantities of illicit substances during a coordinated anti-narcotics operation.
According to the agency, the raid followed credible intelligence that led operatives to the warehouse, where various prohibited drugs believed to be intended for distribution across different parts of the country were recovered. The suspects were taken into custody as investigators launched efforts to identify other members of the alleged drug trafficking network and trace the source and destination of the seized narcotics.
NDLEA said the operation forms part of its sustained nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking syndicates and the illegal distribution of narcotic substances. The agency reiterated its commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in the production, storage and movement of illicit drugs, warning traffickers that no part of the country would serve as a safe haven for their activities.
The anti-drug agency also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in identifying drug warehouses and arresting suspects. It stressed that community cooperation remains vital to reducing drug abuse, curbing organized crime and protecting Nigerian youths from the dangers associated with illicit substances.
The latest operation underscores the NDLEA’s intensified campaign against drug-related crimes, as the agency continues to strengthen intelligence-led enforcement and collaborate with other security agencies to combat narcotics trafficking nationwide.
