– Government promises more welfare packages for youths
The Ogun State government has concluded the distribution of the second batch of palliatives to over One hundred thousand youths in the state as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the stay-at-home directive.
This is in bid to reduce the pressure that the lockdown comes with and also contain the advance of Covid-19 pandemic.
While describing the Governor’s effort has commendable, the State Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abduljabar Ayelagbe, said ”Governor Abiodun has shown that he’s a leader for the people, such kind of gesture in the distribution of palliatives of this magnitude is rare and commendable”.
”We thank the Governor for this laudable step and we assure him of Youth Council’s support at all time”.
Also, expressing his gratitude to the Governor, the President of Remo Youth Association, Odumosu Gbenga, commended the efforts of the government over the distribution of palliatives to the youths in all the 20 local governments of the state, adding that the welfare of youths in the state is of top priority to the Governor.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Sports, Olamide Lawal, who represented the Governor during the distribution of the second batch of palliatives assured the youths in the state of the Governor’s commitment towards providing relief materials during the lockdown.
While addressing the youth, Lawal said that Governor Abiodun is concerned about the welfare of the youth, which gave birth to the distribution of palliatives.
He assured youths in the state of the Governor’s commitment to support them through different empowerment programs.
“Governor Abiodun is a man of the people, and this has been expressed in many ways of which the distribution of palliatives to youths in the state is just one of them”.
“This is the second batch of the palliatives the Governor is giving to the youths after the ones provided for them about four weeks ago.”
Lawal thanked youths in the state for their cooperation during the distribution of the palliatives while advising them to obey medical guidelines during the lockdown.
