Let’s Sacrifice For Our Future Generations, Kalu Charges Nigerian Leaders At Ex-Reps Speaker, Bankole’s Mum’s Fidau Prayer

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu has called on Nigerian leaders to emulate late Monsurat Bankole, mother of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
The Deputy Speaker said, nobody will die with their riches, hence, the need to live a moderate life.
Reflecting on the life and time of late mother of the ex-speaker Bankole, Hon. Kalu said parents and leaders should live a life worthy of emulation for their children and make sacrifices that will better the lives of their children.
Kalu stated this on Friday during the 8th Day Fida’u Prayers held for late Monsurat Bankole, mother of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
The event which took place in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, also had prominent Islamic clerics, captains of industries and political chieftains within and beyond Ogun State in attendance.
Offering prayers for late Mrs. Bankole who died on January 10, 2025, the Chief Imam of Gbagura, Prof. Kamardeen Balogun, supplicated for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
He expressed hope that Mrs. Bankole’s positive contributions to humanity and devotion to the worship of Allah, would grant her the mercy of her Creator and admit her into paradise.
In his sermon, Prof. Balogun urged the gathering to dedicate their lives to the service of humanity and worship of God.
While reiterating that life is meaningless without the fear of God as well as following the right path, the cleric admonished the people to always prepare for their death by engaging in good deeds and actions that will enhance humanity.
In his short speech, the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, eulogized late Mrs. Bankole for her forthrightness, dedication to service of humanity, and selflessness while alive.
He noted that the deceased will continue to be remembered as a lover of humanity, a devout Muslim, a loving wife, and a caring mother.
In their respective tributes, Sirika, Amosun, and others eulogized the exemplary life of late Mrs. Bankole, declaring her life was worth emulating.
Other dignitaries at the event include Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Daisi Elemide, the Chief of Staff to the Ogun State governor, Toyin Taiwo, Senators Gbenga Ashiru and Shuaib Salisu, Hon. Tunji Akionsi, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Moruf Afolabi Afuape and Olumide Osoba, Ishiaq Akinlade, members of the House of Representatives from Ogun State.
Also, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, the former governors of Ekiti and Ogun States, Kayode Fayemi and Ibikunle Amosun, respectively and other federal lawmakers were in attendance.
