Ogun Ex-lawmaker “Tola Banjo” dumps APC, officially joins PDP

A former Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly and one of the key allies of the Immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo has officially dumped the rulling All Progressives Congress, APC and joined the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Receiving the flag from the National and state leadership of the party at the official welcoming ceremony for defectors from APC, APM, ADC and other political parties held at the party secretariat located at Oke-mosan in Abeokuta,the Ogun state capital, the ex-lawmaker noted that the decision to dump the APC was occasioned by the toga of failure associated with the current administration in the State.
” The current Government in Ogun state deceived our people into supporting them prior to 2019 general elections, even though they took the mandate by proxy, one could have expected them to do right by the people of the state but instead they decided to drag the growth of our dear gateway state to the dark ages”
“I have strong belief that with Ladi Adebutu and Akinlade in PDP for 2023, Ogun State is surely in for a better and secured future”, he said.
While calling on all party members to strive and collect their permanent voter cards PVCs, the Ijebu-ode born politician promised to continue to work towards the success of the mandate and ensure victory that would help fulfill the untapped potentials of the state to greatness.
He equally drum support for all the candidates across elective positions in PDP.
Welcoming the defectors, the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and other party leaders expressed optimism that with caliber of people joining the party such as Tola Banjo ahead of the 2023 general elections, victory is assured.
He also promised not to repeat the mistakes of the current administration thereby calling on the people of Ogun state to support the mission to restore the lost glory of the gateway State.
