Why I Chose to Keep My Marriage Private – Baba Ijesha’s Wife Opens Up After Welcoming First Child
Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, the wife of Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha, has explained why she deliberately kept her marriage away from public attention, describing privacy as a source of peace and personal fulfillment.
Tokunbo made the revelation in a heartfelt social media post where she shared photographs highlighting memorable moments of her journey with her husband. Accompanying the images was a message expressing gratitude to God for sustaining their relationship through various challenges and triumphs.
According to the fashion entrepreneur, maintaining a private life has helped preserve her peace of mind despite public curiosity surrounding her relationship with the actor.
“Privacy is peace to me,” she wrote, adding that the time had finally come for the couple to publicly celebrate their journey together.
The revelation comes shortly after Baba Ijesha, whose real name is Olanrewaju Omiyinka, announced the birth of their baby boy. The actor shared the joyous news with fans, expressing appreciation to Tokunbo, whom he described as his “ever beautiful wife” and a pillar of strength throughout their journey.
The couple introduced their newborn son as King Kagar Omiyinka, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
Tokunbo also disclosed that the birth of the child represents their first child together after 12 years, a testimony she described as an expression of divine grace and patience.
Beyond her role as a celebrity spouse, Tokunbo is a respected entrepreneur and the Chief Executive Officer of Anjy Luminee Couture, popularly known as House of Luminee, a Lagos-based fashion brand she founded in 2013 shortly after completing her university education.
Originally from Ijesha Isu in Ekiti State, Tokunbo attended Hosanna Africa Primary School and Methodist Girls High School before obtaining a National Diploma in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. She later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lagos State University.
Her story has attracted attention on social media, with many Nigerians congratulating the couple on the arrival of their child while praising Tokunbo’s commitment to maintaining a private and peaceful family life despite public scrutiny.
The development has further sparked conversations about the importance of privacy in relationships, particularly among public figures navigating life in the spotlight.
