Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shiabu has also dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress hours after his principal Godwin Obaseki resignation.
Shiabu did not state the reasons for his resignation. But it may not unconnected to the disqualification of Obaseki by APC.
On Friday, the APC Screening Committee led by Professor Jonathan Ayuba submitted its report to the party’s leadership after it screened Obaseki who is seeking re-election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and four other aspirants.

Ayuba said that Obaseki was disqualified on the grounds that his HSC and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates were “defective”.
