COVID-19: Olugbon charges Oyo residents to comply with govt. measures to end pandemic
Oba Francis Olusola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile Igbon in Ogbomoso, Oyo State has charged residents of Ogbomoso and Oyo State in general to fully comply with the precautionary measures put in place by the government to curtail the spread Coronavirus in the State.
Oba Alao who is the Vice Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas gave the charge in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, also called on the people to support the Oyo State government in its effort to stop the scourge of the pandemic, called COVID-19.
According to him, if the government must win the fight against the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, the people must contribute their own quota by ensuring that they strictly keep to all the measures the government has put in place.
He therefore urged the people to always practise social distancing, wash their hands regularly with soap and running water, use nose masks at all times and stay at home.
The Monarch expressed the optimism that Coronavirus would soon be a thing of the past, saying “This is only a phase that we shall all overcome by the grace of God.”
“This is a time for us all to support the government and ensure that we all comply strictly with the precautionary measures, rules and guidelines laid down by the government.”
“This may be difficult, but it is for the good of everyone, the government is concerned about safety and they are doing their best to ensure that we overcome this pandemic, we as citizens must continue to play our roles well and we must ensure that we support the government at all times.”
“While we are doing this, we must also go to God in prayers and intercede for the country. Nigeria needs our prayers at this difficult moment. I believe with our prayers, we shall overcome this,” Oba Alao said.
