Bestowing GCON on Awujale by President Tinubu, a well deserved honour, glory to entire Ijebuland -Tola Banjo
Former Deputy Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo has described the confirmation of the second Highest National Honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) on Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Shikirullah Adetona by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a well deserved Honour and to the glory of entire Ijebuland.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Tola Banjo eulogized the virtues of the royal father, noting that Oba Adetona has contributed in no small measure to sustainable growth of Nigeria through his numerous wise counsels to successive administrations which has given birth to National development.
The Frontline politician congratulates all Sons and daughters of Ijebuland both at home and in diaspora praying for good health for the Monarch and more service to fatherland even as he celebrates 90th birthday anniversary.
He appreciated the President for bestowing such national honour on Oba Sikirullahi Adetona, saying history will be kind to President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu made the announcement at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye during the commissioning of the Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies and the presentation of a book titled; “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria: The Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona Model.” commemorating the 90th birthday anniversary of the Monarch.
